Kutebs Will Vote Gov. Kefas, Tinubu In 2027, As Ussa LG Boss Joins APC

The Executive Chairman of Ussa Local Government Council, Hon. Abarshi Musa, has assured that the Kuteb nation will support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Taraba State Governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, in the 2027 general elections.

Hon. Musa made the declaration on Tuesday in Kpambo, his hometown, during his formal defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). He was received by a large crowd of party faithful and supporters who thronged his residence in a show of solidarity.

Speaking shortly after registering as a member of the APC, the council chairman described his decision as an act of loyalty to Governor Agbu Kefas, noting that aligning with the ruling party would attract more development to Ussa Local Government Area.

He confirmed that he had earlier submitted his letter of resignation to the PDP Ward Chairman in Kpambo before proceeding to complete his APC registration.

Hon. Musa said the Kuteb nation had recorded notable benefits under the administration of Governor Kefas, citing the ongoing 12-kilometre Takum–Lissam road project, which he said would ease movement of people and agricultural produce from Ussa to Takum and other markets within and outside the state.

He added that the long-awaited Lissam General Hospital would soon be commissioned, while equipment would subsequently be moved to commence work on the 30-kilometre Takum–Kpambo, Fikyu and Kpambo Puri roads as earlier promised by the governor.

The council boss called on youths in Ussa to support the government through prayers and constructive engagement rather than what he described as unproductive criticism and social media attacks. He also urged them to take advantage of empowerment programmes introduced by the state government to acquire skills and become self-reliant.

Receiving the defecting chairman, the APC State Vice Chairman, Hon. James Ahmadu, described Musa's entry into the party as a major political boost, expressing confidence that the APC was now better positioned for victory at all levels in the 2027 elections.

Ahmadu noted that Hon. Abarshi Musa remained one of the most influential political figures in the Kuteb nation and Ussa politics, stressing that his defection marked a significant development in the political landscape of the area. He maintained that the party's strength in Ussa had been greatly reinforced with Musa's return to its fold.
