Taraba Is Not A Poor State, Gov Kefas Says

The Taraba State Governor, Dr Agbu Kefas has said the state is rich in human and natural resources that has potentials for changing poverty attached to the state, stressing that the state is  not poor.

 

The Governor speaking during an interactive session with critical stakeholders of Taraba State at the Ladi Kwali hall of hotel continental in Abuja said the state is rich in fertile lands and huge potentials that if could bring the desired development.

 

The governor said his administration will not renege in engaging reputable companies to construct roads in Taraba State.

 

He announced that the China Civil Engineering Construction Company has commenced the construction of roads in the state which will no doubt open most communities and as well boost economic activities.

 

Governor Agbu Kefas highlighted the challenges facing the state, which include insecurity, economic hardships and under utilization of the state resources.

 

The Governor appreciated General Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma retired for building an additional airport in Kashimbilla, Takum Local Government Area of the state and other achievements which would greatly develop the state.

 

 

 

He explained that the twenty twenty five budget yet to be passed into law was crafted to holistically develop the state.

 

 

 

Governor Agbu Kefas stressed that his administration has set the pace for collaboration with traditional rulers, security agencies and the locals for intelligence gathering.

 

 

 

In his presentation, Commissioner of Agriculture and Food Security Professor Nicholas Namesan said state government purchased and distributed farm implements among other accessories to farmers in Taraba State.

 

 

 

Also speaking, Director General of Taraba Geographic Information Service TAGIS Doctor Mark Joshua Ma'aku said the Service has ensured digital land administration targeted to boost revenue base of the state.

 

 

 

On her part,Commissioner of Education Austina Godwin said the impacts of the Kefas'free education has been felt by all and sundry.

 

 

 

Other Commissioner who spoke include Commissioner of energy and economic development Naomi Agbu, Chairman Taraba State Internal Revenue service, retired Gen Aliyu Jeremiah Faransa, Commissioner of Environment and Climate change Aishat Barde, And Commissioner of Heritage and EcoTourism Joseph Nagombe Joseph Titus among others.

 

 

 

In his remarks Principal Private Secretary to the Governor Godfrey Tafida, described the gathering as a testament to the progress of the state as Stakeholders will shared ideas to transform the state.

 

 

 

This is the second time Governor Agbu Kefas is having an interface with critical stakeholders in the state.
