Red Box: Karimjo Community Identified Alleged Killers Of Late Gambo Mani, Calls For Arrest

The Karimjo, Community Development Association, has called on the Taraba State Government, to design a sustainable strategy that will end attacks on it' members in Karim-Lamido Local Government Area.

The Association also called for the arrest of killers of one Gambo Mani who was gruesomely murdered on his way back home on 29th January 2024.

The group in a press statement signed by it's national president, Kennedy James, stated that the killers of Gambo Mani were identified in Dogo Yashi Community, a Wurkum settlement in Karim Lamido Local Government Area.

The statement also called on security agencies to ensure the perpetrators are captured and made to face the law.

The Karimjo group also accused the Wurkum people of unleashing terror on it's members despite the existence of the peace accord.

The Association also noted that the recent attacks violates the peace accord Initiated by the governor of Taraba state Dr Agbu Kefas, which amounts to the breach of trust.

The statement called on the governor of Taraba state Dr Agbu Kefas to take measures that will end the violence, and provide lasting solutions to the people of the area.

The Karimjo Community has called on the Taraba state and Karim Lamido Local Government Council to as a matter of urgency launch a security operation leading to the arrest of killer(s) of one "Gambo Mani" who was gruesomely murdered recently by suspected Wurkum militia on his way back home on Twenty Nineth January, Twenty Twenty Four.

Investigations gathered revealed that the killer of Gambo Mani have been identified in Dogo Yashi Community, a Wurkum settlement in Karim Lamido Local Government Area where his motorcycle and phone were recovered by the security personnel who carried out a man-hunt operation to the area after a security tip-off of the situation. This made the residents of the area to flee for fear of arrest, however, the careful hunt by the security operatives led to the disclosure of homes of the perpetrators and their sponsors.

The Karimjo in a statement made available to the press demands for justification for such a barbaric and primitive act, insisting that the law must be allowed to take its course to avoid reoccurrence of any chaotic activity and to serve as deterrent to others who might be nursing such devilish ambitions.

The community laments the surge and calls on the Taraba state Governor, Kefas Agbu to rise on his cardinal responsibility in taking drastic measures to facilitate the arrest of those found wanting as this will go a long way to combating insecurity in Karimjo community, Karim Lamido Local Government and even Taraba state alarge. 

The released statement emphatically frowns at such inhumane act, pointing that such an ugly mayhem is a total violation of the Peace Accord and a breach of trust initiated by the Executive Governor through the twenty six man committee set up last year, July Fourth, Twenty Twenty Three, which necessitates both parties following the renewed crisis that has greeted the people of Karimjo with bizarre experiences.

It further stresses that since the Dialogue and Peace Accord witnessed last year, the act seems to be a dance of masquerade and a moment of mirage as the Wurkum people have continued to unleashing their terror through well schemed devices thereby killing several of Karimjo people. There Gorilla tactics have created scenarios where some have been strangled to death. It points out that the Saladuna,Dogo Yashi and Binneri Community have become hub where a lot of nefarious activities are orchestrated and later executed bearing in mind that this is the same place Saladuna where another thirty eight year old young man by the name "Hosea Jonathan" was butchered when he went to see his children. It is surprising that the man in question met his Waterloo after the Peace Accord while he paid a visit to a Wurkum lady whom he gave birth with- his wife.

It is true that the Karimjo nation has demonstrated commitment towards maintaining peace and order in the society, but cannot sit and watch security threat mounting on its existence. It, therefore, calls on the Governor to swift into action by taking appropriate measures to prevent citizens from taking laws into their hands and as well avoiding a breach of law and order that may endanger the stability of the state even in the long run. The statement notes that insecurity retards progress in whatever society of human race, hence, proactive steps ought be taken to nip insecurity to the bud.

It adds that Karim Lamido is a home to anybody who goes there for a meaningful purpose, but cannot be too generous to tolerate injustice and unnecessary provocations from criminal elements. It seeks the attention of security operatives to put in more efforts to safeguard the lives of as this will grantee the safety of investors dwelling in the area and also create an enabling environment for their businesses to grow and by extension brings prosperity to Karim Lamido Local Government and Taraba state at large. The statement also puts a reminder across that Karim is one of the highest food producing areas in the country due to numerous agricultural potentials that are bound there.

Finally, the Karimjo community press statement appeals to residents of Karim Lamido Local Government to be Security conscious and should as a responsibility report any suspicious elements to appropriate authorities for the betterment of the area, stressing that security of lives is more than a single man's affairs, but rather a collective responsibility to achieving a prosperous nation. Of course, there's a need for all hands to be on deck for insecurity to be curtailed.
