Red Box: How Bandits Kill District Head Of Sarkin Kudu

Bandits have killed the district head of Sarkin Kudu town in Ibbi Local Government Area of Taraba State.

The district head, Ali Hakimi, was reportedly attacked in his palace at Sarkin Kudu town at about 12.30am Friday.

A source in the area told our reporter that the bandits, about 10 in number, forced themselves into the palace of the district head and shot him dead.

Another source who identified himself as Bello Adamu told our reporter that the deceased was the brother of the chief of Sarkin Kudu chiefdom.

He said in recent times, the bandits had launched several attacks across the chiefdom and abducted many people.

"The attackers escaped into the bush after killing the district head and everyone in the area is leaving in fear because nobody knows the next target of the bandits," the source said.

Police spokesman in the state, SP Usman Abdullahi, could not be reached for comment over the incident as his line was swtiched off when our reporter called him.
