Red Box: Ndola Tribe Moves To Retain Chairmanship Of Kurmi LG

More than twenty stakeholders from Ndola Community of Kurmi Local Government Area of Taraba state have insisted that the long-standing rotational arrangement amongst the three majors of Kurmi; Ndola, Ichen and Tigun should be sustained in the forthcoming local government election.

They said the agreement was contained in the communique of meeting by Kurmi Stakeholders Forum held on 14th August, 2018 stating that each of the tribes will serve for two terms of four years

Based on this positions,  the Ndola Orators and Coalition Movement said they are backing former caretaker Chairman of Kurmi Local Government, Hon. Ammamzalla JD Joseph for the Peoples Democratic Party PDP ticket.

Speaking with journalists  in Baissa, the administrative headquarters of Kurmi, the convener of The Ndola Orators and coalition Movement, Hon. James Maisaje, said the former caretaker Chairman, Hon. AmmamzallaJD Joseph has done alot and has distinguished himself as an intellectual of high repute.

He stated that, over the years, Ndola PDP stakeholders have been making some mistakes of cutting off people once they are about to reach political maturity and that has kept Ndola in constant political stagnation and has deepened the animosity between some groups and another.

He noted that, they groups have come together for the unity of Ndola nation and betterment of Kurmi by endorsing Hon. Ammamzalla JD Joseph to finish his two terms of four years as others did.

The chairman Ndola stakeholders Hon. Kuriya Magajialso argued that the agitation that Hon. AmmamzallaJD Joseph should be replaced is not for the unity of Ndola Nation but for the interest of few.

PDP women leader of Bente Garlea Ward added that Ammamzalla changed the economic situation of Kurmi by making judicious use of tax payment for the greater good of the Local Government.

"Before now, we don't know the importance of paying tax but the emergence of Ammamzalla as Chairman of Kurmi gave us reasons to pay our tax without complaints because it changes the economic situation of Kurmi".
