Afforestation: 10M Bribery Allegation Rocks Taraba Ministry of Environment

The Taraba State Madrid and Timber Buyers Association has accused some officials of the State Ministry of Environment of receiving financial inducement to the tune of Ten Million to allow a splinter association Process Wood  Producers and Marketers Association of Nigeria, PROWMAN, operates in the state.

Both groups Taraba State Madrid and Timber Buyers Association and PROWMAN are at logger head over who control collections of afforestation dues from loggers in the state Taraba Truth and Facts gathered.

Chairman, Taraba State Madrid and Timber Buyers Association Comrade Josiah Magaji said they reliably gathered that a female politician from the southern Taraba zone fraudulently made the arrangement to induced the ministry using the name of the wife of the governor to only to cover up shady deals which they have been defrauding the state of the fund meant for afforestation Programme from the Federal Ministry of Environment.

 

Comrade Josiah Magaji lamented that the promoters of PROWMAN are using the name of the Governor's wife Barr. Anna Ishaku to carry out operations that can cause confusion in State if not checked.

 

"Let it be known categorically that the Governor's wife will never be party to such a questionable association, PROWMAN that is out to cause confusion in State.

 

"Let it be known to the public that the Naa Ndola the mother of the state is a Lawyer by training, she loves her dear State and therefore cannot be involved in any act that will bring down her state talked more of selling the state governed by the first family to some Yoruba people. Her excellency disassociates herself from this association, PROWMAN that have been defrauding the state since 2017," Comrade Josiah Magaji said.

TARABA MADRID AND TIMBER BUYERS ASSOCIATION

 

The Taraba State Madrid and Timber Buyers Association wishes to informed the general public and it's esteems members to stay clear of the new organisation that stormed the state, Process Wood  Producers and Marketers Association of Nigeria, PROWMAN. 

 

PROWPMAN is never a national association as claimed but only exist as branches in some state in the Southern and Western part of the country, infact,  its an Ogun State based association and will remain so.

 

 It observed that PROWPMAN did not meant well for the State and that there coming to the state is only to cover up their shady deals which they have been defrauding the state of the fund meant for afforestation Programme from the Federal Ministry of Environment.

 

The Madrid and Timber Buyers by Association observed that PROWPMAN supposed to champion tree planting campaign in the states where woods are harvested in Nigeria and they never did that and haven't seen that their deals or secret is about to be exposed they decided to storm the state to quickly set up an association in order to cover up their secret.

 

The Madrid and Timber Buyers Association reliably gathered that there was a financial inducement to the tune of Ten Million naira to some Management Staff of the state ministry of Environment which was arranged by a woman politician from the Southern zone and she fraudulently uses the name of the Wife of the Governor of the State to perpetrate their evil intentions.

 

Also the Taraba State Madrid and Timber Buyers Association want to disabuse the minds of Tarabans on the rumour peddling round that the wife of the governor of the state  has sold out the state to southern  people and that she is the patron of PROWPMAN.

Its on record that The Taraba State Madrid and Timber Buyers Association is a registered entity with the Corporate Affairs Commission, CAC  and only association approved by the Executive Governor and duly recognized by the Federal Ministry to operate in Taraba state.

 

Recently the  Taraba State Madrid and Timber Buyers Association  flagged off 5 million tree planting campaign tagged Operation Green Taraba  Afforestation project in order to give back to nature what it has been taken out of it.

 

The Taraba State Madrid and Timber Buyers Association in its quest for continous afforestation had set up a tree nursery plants in Beki Dutse in Ardokola local government area of Taraba State.

 

The Madrid and Timber Buyers Association called on  its members to be law-abiding as they are following the right channels to address the matter.
