Imam Imam, Ismaila Maihanchi Rivalry Deepens

Political rivalry between Hon Imam Ibrahim Imam, Taraba Sate Commissioner for Youths and Sport and Hon Ismaila Yushau, Special Adviser to Governor Ishaku on Inter government affairs is taking a new twist as the duo warms up for an epic battle in 2023.





Supporters of Hon. Imam are not happy with the allege role Hon Maihanchi played during the appointments of commissioners saying the rivalry might not be unconnected to who represents Jalingo Yorro Zing federal constituency in 2023.

 "We all know that Hon Maihanchi did everything possible to block the appointment of Hon Imam as commissioner, because when his name was not on the first list, Maihanchi and his supporters were very happy, Maihanchi wasn't happy with the likes of Joel Ikenya who intervene and made case for Hon Imam. We know both of them are interested in going to the House of Representative so its normal for the bricking."

The duo who are in the cabinet of Governor Ishaku are political leaders in Jalingo metropolis, close watchers believed growing popularity of Hon Maihanchi pose a political threat to Iman who once represented Jalingo 1 at the State House of Assembly.

Although Hon. Imam commands a large political followership in Jalingo, Maihanchi who was Governor Ishaku's Special Adviser on Youths affairs in previous dispensation seems to have won the more youths to his camp.

   A close source to Hon Maihanchi said the businessman turn politician has no intention to contest for any office in 2023 for now and he bear no grudges against Imam but its obvious some people are threatened by the sudden rise of Maihanchi in the Jalingo political firmament.
