Says Gov. Ishaku, Commissioners Adhered to Safety Measures at State Executive Council Meeting



Newly appointed Special Adviser to Governor Darius Ishaku, Hon Daniel Likam has urged Tarabans to obey all government directives in fighting the spread of Corona Virus, calling on well meaning Tarabans across the to support the state government in it's efforts to ensure the state is free of the novel virus.

Likam in an interview with Taraba Truth and Facts Newspaper said the government adhere to all safety measures at it's Monday State Executive Council Meeting.

"I want to tell you that all safety measures against Covid-19 were followed at the Council meeting, the Commissioners were properly screened and they washed their hands with sanitizers before entering into the Council Chamber for the meeting, it's not right to say safety measures were not taken," Likam said.





He commended Governor Ishaku for being proactive in ensuring the virus does not find its way into the state.

He said President Buhari broadcast on Sunday has vindicated Governor Ishaku's earlier directives to ban shaking of hands and hugging of each other.

"The President message yesterday has put opposition in the state to shame because it vindicated our Governor's earlier position, let me say that our people should not play politics with lives, don't criticize government position that's affect safety of the people because you are in opposition party.

"It's our prayer that the virus will not find its way into our state, the Governor has taken the right steps by stopping interstate movement, am calling on our people to obey all other directives like social distancing, regular washing of hands and avoid gathering of more than 20 people.

"This is time for every well-meaning Tarabans to support the state government in combatting the spread of the virus, in other climes people are coming to support their state irrespective of any differences. Our big names should emulate such gesture toward Taraba State , for instance am calling on other Government Appointees in the state to donate 50 percent of our salary to the state government to support its fight this pandemic of Corona Virus."

He However tasked members of the Covid-19 Technical Committee to open more isolation centers in other part of the state, warning that with the recorded cases of the virus in Benue state and Baffousan in Cameron, the state is well prepared to respond to any emergency regarding Covid-19.
