Tiv/ Jukun: Kuteb President Wants End to Crisis


The president of the Kuteb Development Association For Nations ( KDAN) has called on the Waring Tiv and Jukun communities to sheath their swords and embrace peace which is the only invaluable assest to both the rich and the poor. The president Prince Ephraim Ira who made the statement today and copy made available to Newsmen has described the crisis as uncalled for , saying it amount to act of madness for brothers who had once wine and dine together to turn against each other at a slightest provocation . The crisis which started like a child's play and later culminated into a full fledged blood - letting event would have been averted if alittle restraint was exercised by both parties at the early stage of it. Prince Ephraim charged the leaders of the two ethnic groups to key into the peace initiatives sponsored both by the Federal and State government in order to find lasting solution to the ravaging situation. Speaking further, he recounted that, the Crisis has brought alot of devastating consequences on everyone in Taraba and Benue state irrespective of ethnic affiliation. Both Economic and socio-cultural activities were grounded in most affected areas as roads are not longer safe for pedestrians and commuters . In conclusion he tasks both the state and Federal Government to expedite their findings on the remote and immediate cause of the crisis and release white paper on the new roadmap to lasting peace in the affected area.
