Parents, Students beg Gov. Ishaku to end Varsity strike
Some Students and parents in Jalingo have called on the State Government to speedily intervene and resolve the ongoing conversation strike by the Academic Staff Union of University, Taraba State Branch.
The parents, who spoke in Jalingo on Monday, expressed worry over the constant strikes embarked upon by the university lecturers’ union.
One of them, said that the rampant strikes in the state University had been quite worrisome, as the students were now forced to become idle and lazy.
“There is no stability in the academic calendar of the University. The idle students can be easily lured into criminal acts, as they spend a larger part of the year doing nothing.”

“There is no enough time for students to settle into the system because our university now operate fluctuating and unstable academic calendars.
“So, in that situation, how do you expect the students to take education serious?”

Luqman Musa Muhammad appealled to all patriotic sons and daughters of the state both at home and in Diaspora to intervene with immediate alacrity by calling on the State Government to respond to the ASUU demands with a view to re-open the institution as the strike is almost 50 days now.
He noted that the slogan of the DDI government is RESCUE MISSION but the students are sinking in the deep sea of government failure because the governor has failed them.
